Press Resources on the World Wide Web
As we all know, the press in the U.S. is a somewhat unique institution. A
"watchdog" and democratic system on one hand, and a bunch of organizations
hampered by corporate power and comercialism on the other. Perhaps this short
list of resources might help you find some useful information.
- TheWhitman
College's Medialist provides Internet addresses of various papers,
magazines, etc.
- In my opinion, National Public Radio is the
finest journalistic organization in the entire United States. I have the highest
degree of respect for their productions, and their website has plenty of
interesting information.
- One of the great so-called "alternative" magazines in the U.S. is
Mother Jones, also the proprieter of its own
website.
- Another relatively new alternative press website is The Utne Reader Website
- Check out my favorite radio station west of the Mississipi, KRCC.
- My favorite newspaper ever (sarcasm): The
Gazette-Telegraph.
